Food Tours in Adelaide

The Adelaide Central Market makes a great destination for Australian food tours. The142 year old market is a perfect day trip or short stay for those traveling from Melbourne, and it is considered by some professional chefs to be "the epicenter for food in South Australia". It is not as big as the Queen Victoria market in Melbourne, but it's got lots of character.

The market is a smorgasbord for foodies where a village-like atmosphere prevails. An owner of a gourmet stall in the market called Providore also runs tours of the market. He guides small groups through the stands of fruits, vegetables and gourmet cheese, past bakeries and coffee shops, as he showcases the highlights and gives a bit of a history lesson to guests as well. From the chocolate fountain at Providore to the menu at Lucia's Pizza and Spaghetti Bar, there is something for every taste at the Adelaide Central Market.
